Keeping pet chipmunks in the UK

Chipmunk trying to attract a mate

This is a video of Chloe taken in January 2008, she is trying to attract a mate. Adult Female chipmunks do this twice a year. The chirping sound she is making is a little like the noise they make when they are warning the other chipmunks of danger, but this is not quite so loud as their warning chirp. A female will chirp like this from the moment she gets up, until the evening only taking short breaks to drink or eat something.
