I agree with Chris, it shouldn't be a problem if the diet is balanced, only my Pearl had it, none of my others have ever had it.

Main thing which is very important and not really food is a calcium supplement, cuttlefish, mineral blocks or crushed calcium carbonate powder to sprinkle on food. Its very important that as well as chipmunk food, fruit and vegetables and mealworms ect that the chipmunks get a source of calcium.

It is a lack of calcium that causes MBD.

i know a few farmers who let me have a few things and one that i get my meadow hay from for £1 a bag, 2 bags last a week with my rabbit and the chippies but to be honest they seem to love playing with it more than anything run under it and gather it all up to lay on lol great to watch them having so much fun. i use them to recycle some of my cardboard boxes n tubes (like little-ones they prefer the boxes to the toys and treats that come inside)

my father in law makes lollys for them with all different nuts and seeds in stuck together with local honey or abit of jam/marmalade
hes filled tubes and i think its a parrot toy (non toxic to animals) with the mixture they all seem to love it and seems to be exciting for them to try new ways of getting in to the goodies

he give his watermellon, honey dew mellon, cucumbers etc

has any one tried kiwis?

Gnawing on a cuttlefish is also good for keeping their teeth healthy and sharp too

i wouldnt really say so, iv lived in the middle of nowhere before there are a few farms around but not that many (would be easier if i could drive lol)

i live in skelmersdale in lancashire. i go to the local market when i can, can get some good deals there

my mum has an african grey she buys her seed in 20 or 25 kg sacks from a livery yard on the wirral for £9 and pennies so we always pop in when visiting family so i tend to use some of that mixed with loads of hamster or fruity Guinea pig food as a base

i love bargins so tend to look around as much as possible before i buy
