Advice regarding a cage, please:)
« on: July 22, 2010, 09:07:29 PM »
Hi all,
Is it possible anyone could give me any advice regarding this cage....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Large-Rain-Proof-Steel-Bird-Pet-Aviary-Cage-/130400218315?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Birds&hash=item1e5c756ccb

I am looking to keep chipmunks indoors and wondered if you feel this would be suitable housing? You don’t think they would manage to squeeze their way through the bars?

Thanks in advance,
James :)

Hi, James, I have this cage and it is fine, I have my two chippies in it, and it holds two nest boxes easy, and I have branches in for them to climb on as well. Brilliant for the price. Hope this helps.

Seems ok i would say its a wee on the small side? unless ur having them out alot for fun? how many are you thinking of keeping?  I would say the bigger and wider you can get it the better!  x :happy7:

In addition to what the others have said, chippies tend to prefer horizontal bars in my opinion.  The vertical bars make them feel less safe when climbing.
