So sorry to hear your sad news but accidents happen  :-[ Chippies are fast movers and it can  easily happen. Don't blame yourself at least you were able to give him a chance.

Its an awful thing to happen to you, I did it too whilst trying to get one on my chipmunks back in their cage, my chipmunk was behind a chair and came flying out straight under my foot, i will never forget the sound and i to was so distraught, it has made me be a lot more careful when the chipmunks are out.

pinkpill I am sorry this has happened to you, nothing I can say can ever stop you feeling guilty about this, you must be running the tragedy over and over in your mind.

I am very grateful you were able to post this, as I hope it is seen as a reminder to all of us that this sort of accident can happen to any owner no matter how caring. Particularly at risk are those chipmunks that are the tamest, as they show no fear.

Chipmunks are so fast and we have to be so slow when around them, a moment’s lack of concentration is all it can take. Many a time I thought I knew where a chipmunk was in relation to me, only to be completely caught out.

R.I.P little Moe, and pinkpill you have my sympathies and I’m sure none of us on here blame you, we all love and care for our chipmunks the same, and understand.   :angel7:

Your post could very well have already saved the life of another chippie, as anyone reading this will be reminded how cautious we all have to be.  :icon_salut:

yes nate i totally agree with the tamest are the most at risk as u say no fear, although he was under my mums table, and i was just giving her her tea, and as she moved the table he must of just run out, and as when i looked moe wasnt there but as i put my foot down he must of just darted out as she moved her table, they r extremely fast and many a time i've nearly or have trod on the dog or cat and theyre like an elephant in relation to a chippie, but i cant turn back the clock however much i wish, and just hope it never happens again  :nono:
