pinkpill I am sorry this has happened to you, nothing I can say can ever stop you feeling guilty about this, you must be running the tragedy over and over in your mind.
I am very grateful you were able to post this, as I hope it is seen as a reminder to all of us that this sort of accident can happen to any owner no matter how caring. Particularly at risk are those chipmunks that are the tamest, as they show no fear.
Chipmunks are so fast and we have to be so slow when around them, a moment’s lack of concentration is all it can take. Many a time I thought I knew where a chipmunk was in relation to me, only to be completely caught out.
R.I.P little Moe, and pinkpill you have my sympathies and I’m sure none of us on here blame you, we all love and care for our chipmunks the same, and understand.

Your post could very well have already saved the life of another chippie, as anyone reading this will be reminded how cautious we all have to be.
