Hi all!

I'm new here, just came across this site whilst researching chipmunks. I've always loved these gorgeous little creatures, and am moving house soon, so will then be in a position to get one (or two!). In the meantime, I'm just trying to get as much info as I can, so I have a few questions if that's ok?

Can they be kept alone, or are they better off in pairs? Is there much difference between males and females, behaviour wise?

Looking at housing, would a cage like this be suitable:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Chinchilla-Tall-Cage-148cm-high-rat-chipmunk-degu-/160475735528?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item255d1965e8
Is it big enough?

Do they shed much fur? I only ask this as I used to keep Chinchillas, but I developed an allergy to their loose fur. However, I seem to be ok with rabbits, guinea pigs etc.

Sorry for all the questions, but I just want to be well informed before I take the plunge!  :)
