Hi,
I now have another chipmunk to go with our first they are in the same cage and everything seems ok for the moment, however our new chipmunk his left eye stays shut, when we handle him it eventually opens but seems hard to at first - what is wrong with him and what do you advise I do?

Dont worry about responding to this one unfortunately George has died this morning - we are completely gutted as only had him for three days - he wsa malnutritioned so maybe not a good idea to go to the Zoo in Launceston!?

I'm so sorry to read about your loss. It does hit hard, especially when they are so young.

Years ago I bought one back from a pet shop, only to find it was dead. They hit the poor thing with the edge of a net when they were trying to catch him. I didn't have the heart to take the body back to the shop, as I wanted to give him a proper burial.

I hope you persevere with another chipmunk, as when things go well they do live long happy lives, stick with it.
