Babies!!

My female (Chip) had her first litter on Friday (26 Feb)  . At first count, I have 8 babies. All are doing well and Chip is turning out to be a fantastic mum! I am going to start hand taming from next week so all should be friendly!

Not sure on colours yet (Dale- the dad, is dilute).

Anyone interested, let me know.

i may be interested, do you know what sex they are yet? Whereabouts are you i am in manchester. How much would you be asking?

I'm not sure on sex yet, but will let you know sex as soon as I'm able to check without upsetting Chip.

I'm located on the wirral, about 40 mins from manchester... pretty much straight down the M56/M53!

I'd be looking for about £30 per chipmunk.

Please keep me informed of their progress. (pictures if possible). And let me know when they are ready for re housing. I have just built an outdoor aviary following all the advice on here, so they should have a good home.

Update:

Checked in today and all 8 babies are doing fine and looking healthy! I have 5 agouti and 3 dilute.

Not sexed them yet as I feel it's still a little early to be touching them and I don't want to upset mum. Will be sexing them on Friday when they're a week old!

Any turn out to be dilute females then they are defiantly worth drive  Congrats on all of your brood  Would be going to a neutured male just to let you know incase you prefer a breeding home

I'll be sexing them tomorrow so will let you know if any of my suspected dilutes are female1

You def have Dilutes there as they stay pink when the Agouti's get their stripes

So today I handled the babies for the first time and they are absolutely ADORABLE  !!!  The agouti's are starting to show their stripes and the three dilutes are definitely dilutes compared with the others!!

I've sexed them all as well.

I have 2 agouti females (who I've already promised to someone)

1 dilute female (Sam-spice??)

then 3 agouti males

and 2 dilute males.

It looks like I have interest for all three of my females already, but if anyone is interested in the males, please let me know. I will be handling them everyday from now until they go so they should all be pretty tame and used to humans.

I'm happy for them to go to either breeders, or non-breeders. Really I just want to be sure they're going to a home where they will be looked after and cared for by someone who knows about handling chipmunks.

Hi Jinkim 65,
I am looking to replace my little fellow, chips, who recently passed away of old age.
I would like to purchase one of your litter, and was wondering if there was some way you could deliver, (cover expenses) or if there is some way I could arrange a pet courier service, providing it is not mega books !
Can you please let me know what you think, as I am desperate to get him replaced. We are in Bedworth, junction three of the M6 Warwickshire. Many thanks.

Warwickshire is a little far for me to get to (my car is due it's MOT and likely to fail :-( ), otherwise I'd have been happy to deliver. Do you want to look into how much a pet courier would cost?
