female nicking the other females baby

omg my chipmunk scarlet has nicked one of petals babies  and now scarlet is making really funny noises from her box,she as never had any since we have had her in 3yrs dont now why shes done it, anybody else had this problem but i have now separated scarlet form petal but am worried bout the baby now

If Scarlet hasnt babies of her own then get the baby back...put some scent from petals house nest box whatever on the baby and try to reintroduce it if you can!   the quicker you can do this the better chance of Petal accepting the baby back... Good Luck!!!!!!
