Desperate for CINNAMON female - been looking over a year now :(

Hi, i know i keep going on about it but my male Cinnamon Bailey really needs a girlfriend, another Cinnamon or if not a Cinnamon Carrier (one Cinnamon parent and one Agouti parent). Before i got Bailey i had been looking for a Cinnamon for a year at least then i was lucky Dayle had three and kindly let me have Bailey (male yay) but i have still been after a female since before last year but they are even harder than boys to find. There have been a few boys but no girls so far.

Please get in touch if you even suspect you have a Cinnamon (they will look lighter than Agouti with ginger tinge)or if you have a Cinnamon parent.
I'm loosing hope of ever getting a female.

Jenny, the only thing I can think of if you can't find a female cinnamon is for my Meg to have an extended "holiday" at yours.  I know this is not an ideal arrangement but the bloodlines have to be protected and there aren't enough cinnamons around at the moment.

Hi Barry, yeah i think Bailey would LOVE that idea lol. I agree there doesn't seem to be many around, they do seem very rare. I think the numbers do need boasting otherwise we could lose them for ever which i think would be very sad in my years of owning Chipmunks i have only seen them on two occasions in the same pet store. One was Sandie (female i bought, Ginger and Hazel's mum) and a dad who i didn't get and a second occasion some baby ones but since then never saw them again, apart from on this forum and the babies Sandie had.

If we do breed Bailey and Meg we would need to give Meg time to recover from having the litter she has now, maybe late june, early july. Let me know if this sounds ok. I just have to ask dragon35 about his as pics look abit Cinnamon. Will let you know once i find out.

Hi Jenny,

I think I have a cinnamon male who had just become a father today.
I've never been sure if he is a cinnamon or not. He was my first chipmunk so I thought it was just the normal colour.  Then I got my females and they are definitely darker.  My males tummy is white and he nose is pink where as my female tummy is darker and he nose is brown.  He also looks gingerish.
Its my first lot of babies so we are very excited and nervous.  Hope things go well.  There are signs of a bit of blood around the aviary will this be from her giving birth?  She seems fine and has been out and I definitely heard speaking in her box and she's spending most of her time in there.
I will update when I have more news, and try to get a good picture of him that shows his colour well.

Hi Teresa, congratulations on your first litter i hope everything goes well, the first litter for me was very exciting but it was when i was young so i never thought they wouldn't survive, we did lose two but thankfully Ginger and Hazel survived. When Hermione's babies were born i again was very excited as it is years since i've had success and this time i doubted whether they would survive, thinking back to older litters. All four as still here at the moment and i'm feeling more happy that they will become adults. Your description of your boy does sound like he is Cinnamon, would you be able to post a picture of him in my Cinnamon Pictures thread? The blood probably is from her giving birth. Squeaking sounds from box and mum spending lots of time in there does sound like she has babies. You will be able to tell from her teats if she had feed the babies they will look dark pink. I will get a pic of Hermione's tummy which i will post in Hermione's babies thread, she hs four babies who are doing very well. Thank you i do hope everything works out great and look forward to pictures of the dad.

Hi Jenny,

Iike you would love to have cinnamon chipmunks.  Have got a good selection of agouti and dilutes, but never come across a cinnamon.   If you do find any I'd be grateful if you'd let me know, would love to have one or two jumping around my aviarys.

Hi Debbie, i still don't have a Cinnamon female, got two new Agouti's so like you i now have a good selection of Agoutis and Dilutes. Nutkin is a carrier of Cinnamon so hopefully i might get a few babies from her but because of how difficult they are to breed using Agoutis there is no guarantees. I know Cinnamon to Cinnamon breeds Cinnamon as i've bred litters. Cinnamon to Agouti should according to my books breed Agouti that will carry gene. Cinnamon to Cinnamon carrier according to my book breeds Agouti, Cinnamon carriers and if lucky maybe a few Cinnamons but i really don't know as never bred them this way before. But i will try it.

Anyway i''m not looking for any more Agouti's or Dilutes but won't give up on a Cinnamon female i know they must be out there so will keep fingers crossed i will get one some time in the future. A Cinnamon female would complete my collection. Good luck Debbie finding one. Oh Candyfloss have you had any luck yet?

If you ever feel you could part with another one of your cinnamon girls I would give her the best home ever,with all the best food she could ever wish for, in fact sometimes I my husband wishes he was a chipmunk as they get better fed andhave more of my attention than he does ! LOL!

Thanks Sarah-Jane, are you sure? Yes you have done such a great job, they wouldn't have survived without your round the clock care. I will update regularly i will post pics on here and can also send you updates by e-mail. Nearly everyone i have got a baby from is on this forum like Dayle, Judy and Martyn. The only ones i didn't keep in touch with was Abigail and Pearl's owner but they moved abroad. Hermione's breeder isn't on the forum but i send e-mail updates to them with links to this forum. I do my best to keep everyone updated 

I will do my best to give her a good home. I am really excited and won't be able to wait until i pick her up. I hope she will be very happy. When you feel ready you can e-mail or PM me to make arrangements. I think you have my e-mail?

  they have vets appointment next Thursday and if everything is OK they will be ready the week after! She Will be sold with a part of her fleece that they all sleep on! I would prefer them to go with  another girl but I understand not everyone wants 2! She will sleep next to Ur bed if u want her too and she is now litter trained and if u want her to go out with You she will Be happy  travel in a bum bag and come out! All of them come out with me. She is still learning water bottles but by the time comes for her to go  she should be ready!! X  I think I have Ur pm and email.
