LOTS OF BABIES
« on: April 21, 2010, 10:21:53 AM »
Here are my 2 litters of chippies, the larger  ones opened their eyes on Sunday
we think we have  3 male dilutes ready in about 3- 4weeks
                           2 female dilutes already reserved
2 male agouti ready in about 6 weeks as approx 2 weeks behind the others
there will be other dilutes at this time however did not want to stress my mum as she is caring for the 2 litters so had to be quick taking photos

they first baby came out of the nest box today looking very dubious at his surroundings, i have had baby chipmunks in my pockets, inmy hair and down my back, as fast as you move one out another moves in.
whenmy kids were smallihad the monsters in my pocket but never imagined i would one day have live chipmunks sneaking in them when putting food in the aviary little devils bless em

all 5   dilute babies  from the first litter  came  out  to investigate today,  they were running every where but mostly eating /tasting all the diferent things,  we also got the other babies out and the brown ones appear more reddy brown than  before  and definitely redder than mum, probably not the best photo but put them on any way

i think they are agouti too but had to check, they look bit awkward  as had to take photos quick as just starting to scurry away, and they are pretty quick now,  i think they are quite strong on their legs hence they look like they have "the muscles from brussels" to pinch a catch phrase,  ive had them out  again today, but when you try to put them back they cling on and crawl backup  your arm for more, cuddles.  i have to ask questions as i have  never bred anything before as ive spent  most of my time putting other peoples back together,   so this is all a very new experience for me,having baby anything , except feral kittens  as have fosterd lots of theese over the years.
