I gave some to Hermione and the babies earlier this week but mum ate them all. There are still a few in the garden but we don't get as many as we used too. Got plenty of cherry and also pear blossom though which they love. Chip and Dale my first pair loved daisies, might have to go to the park and get some.

They'll eat them sometimes in the wild - I think they are natural preventatives to something that has to do with the stomach (upset? not sure). I give my chippies store bought dandelion leaves as part of their healthy plant foods. Unless you have outdoor chips, I'd only give outside flowers to indoor chips if you oven-bake them first since you can never tell what bug parasites are hitching a ride on a plant you bring inside (believe me, mites are no fun!).

Hi Chiptastic, i dont  know if you are aware if the chips live outside they can pick up other unwelcome guests from passing wildlife but frontline for cats and dogs can be used (NOT the spot on type) but spray just dip cotton bud in the liquid shake it so as not to get too much one drop then place bud on back of neck of each chip as prevention is better than cure, worked on mine as had plenty when we rescued them but now no mites/fleas/ticks  etc  and  as i am living in the country you never know what wildlife passes by  and what visitors they might leave  behind by but i did check with my vet before i used it just incase it was dangerous or if there was a similar prevention for small furries,
