Thanks for putting up the photos, her main aviary is much better looking than I thought it would be from Gillys description, when you consider the amount of time you had to do all this in. Looks good, and a great position for her with the window to look out of and a place to take refuge. It shows people how you can make a really good home out of bits and pieces. Hope the soil pipe wasn't secondhand :) I use the same size soil pipe between two room about four meters long. Wall cut out with a borrowed core drill, it's been like the M4 for them as they run between aviaries. I think in time you may have to change the shelf in the main aviary to a laminated shelf, as the plain wood or ply one just becomes too difficult to keep clean.

Can't see a nest box for her, no need to make ones like Gilly's notorious luxury swiss chalets, even a card board box with a hole in it about shoe box size will do fine. I'm a big fan of cardboard tubes about the size used for posters, keep an eye out for any. Chippies love shelves and old towels BTW, oh and you being around with her all day.

Lastly, go on get her a Wodent wheel for Christmas you know you want to. Might drive you mad when she gets the hang of it though.

I may have a spare Chalet to rent out! ;)
That's a good idea though Albo does need a little hideyhole up in the corner of the cage. She seems to be in her burrow all the time when I visit. It's not fair, I've not seen a Chipmunk for weeks now  >:(

Thanks for the comments nate .. The ground floor of her apartment is what you could call her nesting box at the moment ,I take on board your comments regarding a proper nesting box , but to be honest she is to busy digging in the compost, I bought some more ericasious compost today to fill up her digging area as she is a bit mental with her shovelling, the garage floor is  awash with the overspill , I'll have to sort that bit out maybe a sheet of clear Polly to catch it and recycle . Steves a bit brassed off as his are tucked up for the winter and he is missing them, so for therapy he comes for a quick fix by way of  a look at Albo , Bless ...
Sorry about the quality of  some of the shots but I think the camera picked up the mesh and not the subject , the aviary is 6ft tall 5ft wide 2ft deep not bad for nowt' eh. and my neighbours old kitchen unit  thrown in ...I posted a request on the use of oranges for food and some people have had good results so I tried it and She loves them so again all in easy stages and she how it goes ..cheers all

Gave mine some avocado, I cut it in to eight slices so it can go round to them all. They love that, especially Toto with her dodgy teeth. It's so tempting for me to take a slice for myself, as I like avocado.

Perhaps Albo never had the chance to dig, except when she was on the run of course, eh erm.

I've just seen your CD door post, state of the art sliding door, looks like the sort of think Wallace from Wallace and Gromit would invent, eh up lad, I think of a tune.
