Definatly recommend rescue pigs if possible

Ours all all rescue pigs, all abyssinian girls. Twirl is the mum of the other two, the other two seem to have a bit of Crested in them with their flat fringes

The best to recommend is one boy to an unlimited number of girls

Males tend to fight inless introduced when babies, and even then they often fight when becoming adults, whereas the females rarely fight no matter how many you introduce

We had a neutured boar with our 3 girls but sadly he passed away earlier this year so maybe I might look for another if any come into my local rescue when I have a few more pennies

Im quite pro rescue so won't go into breeding much but definatly look for breeders who are happy to show you all their pigs, and look at their teeth (and family history of teeth problems etc). A true/pure abyssinian should have 9/10 clearly defined rosettes (hair whorls) in total, (1/2 on the shoulder, 4 on their body and 4 on their hindquarters) and if you want to breed then female pigs need to begin breeding before 1 year old as their hips tend to fuse after this if they've not had a litter so giving birth would be very painful or lethal possibly. They can breed anytime of year as far as I know, if theirs a male in their with a female 99% of the time she'll be pregnant straight away, often baby guinea pigs come into the rescue sadly pregnant as their dad was never removed.
Brindle is a lovely colour, the other colour sounds like a tortoiseshell with white but their are so many mixed piggies it could have been any random mutation, sounds adorable either way!

I will try put up so pictures of our 3 girlie-whirls xx
